Ballerina Marjorie Tallchief (b. Oct. 19, 1926, Denver, CO) grew up in Fairfax, OK and Los Angeles, CA and is a member of the Osage Nation. She trained under Bronislava Nijinska and David Lichine and was the first Native American to be "première danseuse étoile" of the Paris Opera Ballet.
